From June 19 to 21, 2025, we had the honor of participating in the XV National Congress on Personality Disorders: Humanity and Science, organized by the Spanish Society for the Study of Personality Disorders (SEETP), which took place in Madrid. This three-day event brought together mental health professionals to share knowledge, clinical experiences, and the latest advances in the treatment of Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) and other personality disorders. <\/p>\n
At Grup-TLP Barcelona, we actively participated by contributing our clinical perspective and reaffirming our commitment to public mental health care that is accessible, specialized, and grounded in scientific evidence.
Three intense days filled with exchange, reflection, and shared learning have inspired us to continue promoting early detection and comprehensive treatment of BPD, through a human-centered, technically sound, and socially committed approach to improving public care. <\/p>\n
During the congress, key topics were addressed such as the feasibility and effectiveness of group psychotherapies<\/strong> within the public healthcare system, the study of BPD prodromes<\/strong>, and the relationship between childhood trauma and non-suicidal self-injury in adolescence<\/strong> as early indicators of this disorder. The sessions also delved into the early disruption of social cognition<\/strong> as a core component in the development of BPD, as well as the treatment of Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD)<\/strong> in individuals with personality disorders. <\/p>\n

<\/div>![<\/a><\/div><\/div><\/div>\nAnother key highlight was the debate on rehabilitation models for BPD<\/strong>, particularly from the perspective of Transference-Focused Psychotherapy (TFP)<\/strong> and recent developments in its group-based version (TFP-G)<\/strong>, which is already being implemented in public mental health services.
