The Col\u00b7legi de Metges de Barcelona (COMB)<\/strong> hosted on May 29<\/strong> the 11th Grup-TLP Barcelona Conference<\/strong>, focused on affective-sexual relationships and gender identity in personality disorders<\/strong>. The meeting was held in a hybrid format (in-person and streaming) and brought together professionals from various clinical and academic fields interested in this topic.<\/p>\n

The conference, conducted in Spanish and English with simultaneous translation service, was inaugurated with the participation of Aina Plaza, Director General of Health Planning of the Government of Catalonia, and Joan Vegu\u00e9, President of the Board of Directors of Grup-TLP Barcelona. Throughout the day, the program was structured around several lectures and round tables.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>

A Program Focused on Understanding Identity<\/strong><\/p>\n

The program addressed identity from different perspectives. The first lecture, delivered by Marcus Evans, consultant psychotherapist in mental health, focused on the psychoanalytic understanding of gender distress based on the concept of the foundational myth.<\/p>\n

Next, Jos\u00e9 Luis Carrasco, Professor of Psychiatry at the Complutense University of Madrid, addressed the construction of identity in personality disorders, focusing on the relationship between the subject and the object.<\/p>\n

The afternoon session included the intervention of Stephan Doering, psychiatrist and psychoanalyst at the Medical University of Vienna, with the lecture \u201cOedipus 2.0 \u2013 What Has \u2018Hysteria\u2019 Become?\u201d, in which he broke down the differences among the various current clinical expressions of hysteria.<\/p>\n

Spaces for Clinical and Interdisciplinary Debate<\/strong><\/p>\n

In addition to the lectures, the conference included two round tables that allowed for a deeper exploration of the topics discussed.<\/p>\n

The first, focused on identity, affectivity and sexuality in adolescence, featured the participation of Marcus Evans, Marc Ferrer and Neri Daurella. The second addressed the difficulties in affective-sexual relationships among people with borderline personality disorder, with the participation of Stephan Doering, Jos\u00e9 Luis Carrasco and Francesc Maestre.<\/p>\n

These spaces facilitated the exchange of experiences among professionals and reflection on clinical practice in diverse contexts.<\/p>\n

With this eleventh edition, the Grup-TLP Barcelona Conference consolidates itself as a benchmark space for training, reflection and knowledge exchange in the field of personality disorders, bringing together highly regarded professionals to address the main clinical and healthcare challenges of the sector.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>
