Non-Suicidal Self-Injury (NSSI) in adolescents has become a growing and serious public health problem, affecting approximately 17–18% of adolescents in the general worldwide population and 50–60% of the clinical population, with a usual onset during early adolescence. They are mainly associated with emotional dysregulation (ED) and show a strong link with suicidal behavior. This compels clinical professionals and mental health researchers to improve early detection of these behaviors and their intervention, in order to prevent progression toward more severe psychopathological disorders.
The main objective of this session is to present a pioneering psychotherapeutic program, the TaySH Program, specifically developed for the treatment and management of NSSI and ED, aimed at professionals working with this clinical population.
